Vacation work....

So I obviously didn't make it back before vacation, but my cough is getting better!  I should be ok soon...

Here`s what you can do to wrap up los toros--
Watch the videos about Alvaro Munera and Fadjen the bull in France.
Review the other videos and readings about the corridas.
Make you Pinterest board and send me a way to find you so I can follow your board.
Make an autoprueba of words you need to express your opinion about the corridas.

Write me an essay in Spanish to answer this question:  ¿Se debe prohibir las corridas de toros?  Use all of the sources I gave you to back up your answer.  The essay should be 4-5 paragraphs.  You can email it to me by the Monday night after we get back from vacation (Feb. 24).

Other than the toros, please please please use the break to study vocabulary at the back of the Diaz book and try to watch and listen to as much Spanish as you can!

Any problems, email me and let me know...

Have a good break!

I'm still home sick....work for Monday

Work for Monday, 2/10--

Here's one more article that I want you to read that showcases the two sides of the bullfighting argument.  Read it and write out thoughtful answers to the questions.  Here's the link to the google doc:
Article about El Toreo and questions

Also, create a Pinterest board for Toros!   Pin an image of what happens in each tercio, pin images of the people who participate in a bull fight, and 5 images that show what side of the debate you are on--pro or contra.

And, check out this article with tons of pictures in the Daily Mail from London about the making of a traje de luces--pretty interesting!

Email if you have any questions, and sorry I'm still out....hope to be back soon!

Notes in Spanish podcast Advanced #70, Los toros
Conversación entre Ben y Marina sobre los toros, una ley para proteger los animales y que opinan los españoles sobre los toros hoy en día.

Google Doc with comprehension questions for both articles and the Notes in Spanish Podcast.
Go here to print out the questions that go with the three resources above.

You need to answer them and make sure you understand the following-
where the traditions of bullfighting came from
what are the parts of a bullfight
who are the people involved in a bullfight
where does bullfighting stand today in Spain--this will come from Ben and Marina.  Listen to the podcast as many times as needed.

Print out the articles and questions and work on them in class Friday.
Don't forget your vocabulary list!

Also, watch the three VideoEle videos--"Conocer los toros" is in two parts and shows you parts of a bullfight.  There may be some gore and blood.  The third video, "Opinar sobre los toros",  talks about the two opposing sides of bullfighting.  All three will give you visual references to the articles and the podcast.
